Cleaning and Care

While staining and soiling exposures are common to upholstery fabrics, most stain and soiling may be removed by using the simple cleaning methods that follow:

One of the best ways to keep UltraLeather surfaces looking great is to properly maintain them by cleaning regularly to prevent excessive dirt from accumulating. Below is a general outline to help you keep your quality Ultrafabrics brand products looking their best.

Following these guidelines will help to extend the life of the fabric:

  • Clean regularly with soap and water

  • Wipe up spills as soon as they occur

  • Alcohol based cleaners such as Fantastik® and Formula 409® can be used to clean and remove stains

  • Sanitize using disinfectants such as 1:5 bleach/water solution

  • For stubborn stains, wipe the stain off with isopropyl (rubbing alcohol)
    as soon as possible

  • Thoroughly rinse all solution residue with clean water

  • Air dry

High UV Maintenance Instructions

  • All Ultrafabrics High UV products should be stored in a dry, well ventilated area

  • Ultrafabrics mildew resistant surfaces do not promote mildew growth, however, mildew may grow on dirt and other foreign substances that are not removed from the fabric

  • The frequency of cleaning will vary greatly depending upon the local outdoor environment in which the product is used

  • Cushions should not remain wet or be covered, as this will increase the chances of mildew growth occurring

All of our High UV products perform best when:
1. Paired with an open cell, reticulated, quick drying foam and/or a waterproof, anti-mildew barrier between the fabric and foam
2. Utilizing air vents and/or a mesh, open weave fabric bottom
Note: These recommendations allow for proper draining and quick drying.
